(361) なかなかに時々雲のかかるこそ月をもてなす飾りなりけり

時々雲がかかることこそ、かえって月が喜ぶ飾りです

The occasional cloud cover is actually a joyous decoration for the moon.

 

(362) 雲晴るる嵐の音は松にあれや月もみどりの色にはえつつ

雲は晴れて嵐は去った。聞こえる音は松に吹く風でしょう。月も松のみどりに映えています

The clouds have cleared and the storm has passed. The sound I hear is the wind blowing through the pine trees. The moon is reflected in the green of the pine trees.

 

(363) さだめなく鳥や鳴くらん秋の夜は月の光を思ひまがいて

鳥は秋の夜の月の光を朝日と思うて、時を定めず鳴くのでしょうか。

Do birds mistake the moonlight on autumn nights for the morning sun and sing at any time?

 

(364) 誰もみなことわりとこそ定むらめ昼をあらそふ秋の夜の月

秋の月は昼の明るさと競い、秋は月と誰もが認めるところです。

The autumn moon competes with the brightness of day, and everyone agrees that autumn is the season for the moon.

 

(365) 影さえてまことに月の明き夜は心も空にうかれてぞすむ

月影がさえて本当に明るい夜は、心うかれて空にただよいます

On a truly bright night with the moon shining, I drift in the sky with a joyous feeling.

(366) くまもなき月の面てに飛ぶ雁の影を雲かとまがへつるかな

The shadows of the geese flying across the face of the full moon are like clouds.

 

(367) ながむればいなや心の苦しきにいたくな澄みそ秋の夜の月

澄んだ月を眺めていると、我が心の濁りががひどく見苦しく思えるから、秋の夜の月よあまり澄まないでください

When I look at the clear moon, the cloudiness of my heart seems terrible and unsightly, so please, the moon of autumn nights, does not be too clear.

 

(368) 雲も見ゆ風もふくれば荒くなるのどかなりつる月の光を

雲があらわれ風が強くなると、のどかな月の光も荒くなります

When the clouds come and the wind gets stronger, the tranquil moonlight becomes turbulent.

 

(369) もろともに影を並ぶる人もあれや月の洩りくる笹の庵に

月明かりが差し込む笹葺きの小屋で、影を共にしてくれる人がいたらいいのに。

I wish I had someone to share the shadow with me in the hut thatched by bamboo grass where the moonlight 

pours in.

 

(370) なかなかに曇ると見えて晴るる夜の月は光のそふ心地する

曇ると見えてかえって晴れる夜は月の光が身にそう心地がします

On nights that appear cloudy but are actually clear, the moonlight feels accompanying me.
