　　松風如秋と云ふ事を、北白川なる所にて人々よみて、また水声有秋と云ふ事を重ねけるに

(251) 松風の音のみならず石走る水にも秋はありけるものを

Autumn can be found not only in the sound of the pine wind, but also in the water running through the stones.

松風如秋：松風秋の如し

水声有秋：水声に秋有り

 

(252) 山里は外面の真葛葉をしげみ裏吹きかへす秋を待つかな

山里に住む私は、外壁に繁った葛の葉が風に裏返る秋を待っています

I live in a mountain village, waiting for autumn when the kudzu leaves that grow on the outside walls turn over 

in the wind.

(253) 禊して幣きりながす河の瀬にやがて秋めく風ぞ涼しき

禊のあと、神様に捧げた切り紙を流した川をわたる秋風が涼しい

After the purification ceremony the autumn breeze is cool on the river into which paper-cuttings dedicated to

 God were thrown.

六月祓（みなづきばらへ）：6月晦日に川原で行う禊。

(254) さまざまのあはれをこめて梢吹く風に秋知る深山辺の里

山奥の里で、木々の梢を吹き抜ける風を受けながら、風情ある秋を感じてみませんか

At the village in the deep mountain, you will experience autumn in the wind blowing through the top of trees.

 

(255) 秋立つと人は告げねど知られけり深山の裾の風の景色に

秋が来たとは誰も教えてくれませんが、深い山の麓の風に秋を感じます。

Anyone doesn't tell me that autumn is here, but the autumn is noticed in the wind at the foot of a deep 

mountain.

 

(256) 秋立つと思ふに空もただならでわれて光を分けん三日月

秋の空は不穏な気配を見せ、別れた月の一部が三日月になって地上を照らしていた。

The autumn sky had an ominous air, and part of the moon had separated into a crescent, shining down on the 

earth.

 

(257) 常よりも秋になるをのまつかぜはわきて身にしむ心地こそすれ

いつもより秋になるのが待ち遠しく、鳴尾の松風がことさら身にしむ心地がします。

I'm looking forward to autumn more than usual, and I can't help but feel deeply the pine breeze at Naruo.

(258) 急ぎ起きて庭の小草の露踏まんやさしき数に人や思ふと

七夕の翌日は早く起きて、庭の草の上の露を踏みましょう。人は私のことを（織姫との逢瀬を果たしてきた）風雅な男と思うかもしれません。

Wake up early the day after Tanabata and step on the dew on the grass in my garden. People may think of me as a man who had met with Orihime.

 

(259) 暮れぬめり今日待ちつけて七夕はうれしきにもや露こぼるらん

今日、日が暮れるのを待ちつづけた織姫はうれしさの中にも露の涙をこぼすでしょう

Orihime, who has been waiting for the today's sunset, will shed tears of dew with joy.

 

(260) 天の川今日の七日はながき世のためしにも引き忌みもしつべし

今日、7日の天の川の伝統的な物語は、長続きする愛の例として挙げられるかもしれませんが、悲劇の愛として見られることもあるでしょう。

The traditional story of today's Milky Way on the 7th may be cited as an example of long-lasting love, but it may also be seen as of tragic love.
