(121) 惜しめども思ひげもなくあだに散る花は心ぞ畏かりける
惜しむこころを思いやることもなくただ散る花の心こそ恐れ多いものです
I am afraid of the heart of a flower that
just falls away without caring for my heart that is missed.
畏む（かしこむ）：恐れ多いと思う
(122) 梢吹く風の心はいかがせんしたがふ花の恨めしきかな
梢を吹き抜ける風の心は知る由もないが、そんな風と一緒に散ってしまう花が恨めしい
There is no way to know the heart of the
wind that blows through the treetops, but I resent the flowers that fall away
with the wind.
(123) いかでかは散らであれとも思ふべきしばしと慕ふ歎き知れ花
花が永遠に咲き続けることを私は決して望んでいません。
花よ、あとしばらくは咲いてほしいという私の願いを知ってください。
I never wish that the blossoms would bloom forever. Flowers, please know my desire that you bloom for a few
more days.
(124) 木のもとの花に今宵は埋もれて飽かぬ梢を思ひ明かさん
今夜は木の根元の花に埋もれながら、飽きることなく梢のことを思います。
Tonight I'm buried in the flowers at the
base of the tree, thinking of the treetops without getting tired.
(125) 木のもとに旅寝をすれば吉野山花の衾を着する春風
吉野山の木の下で眠ると、春風が花の寝具を着せてくれます。
When you sleep under the trees of Mt.
Yoshino, the spring breeze will clothe you with flower bedding.
(126) 雪と見えて風に桜の乱るれば花の笠着る春の夜の月
桜の花が雪のように乱れ散ると、花びらで春の月が笠をかぶるようにみえます
When cherry blossoms scatter like snow, the
petals look like the spring moon wearing a hat.
(127) 散る花を惜しむ心やとどまりてまた来ん春の種になるべき
散る花を惜しむ心は留まり、また来る春の種となるはずだ
The heart that regrets the falling flowers
should stay and become the seeds of spring to come again.
(128) 春深み枝も揺るがで散る花は風の咎にはあらぬるべし
春が深まるにつれ、枝が揺れることなく花が散るのは風のせいではありません
As spring deepens, the flowers falling
without sway of the branches is not due to the wind.
(129) あながちに庭をさへ掃く嵐かなさこそ心に花をまかせめ
庭にさえも勢いよく吹き込んで花を散らす嵐だから、心の中に花を置きましょう。
It's a storm that blows in even the garden
and scatters flowers, so let's keep flowers in my hearts.
(130) あだに散るさこそ梢の花ならめ少しは残せ春の山風
実を結ぶこともなく散るのは梢の花のならいだけれど、少しは残せ春の山風よ
It's like the flowers on the treetops that scatter without bearing fruit, but please leave some behind, spring

(131) 心得つただ一筋に今よりは花を惜しまで風を厭はん
心得た、今からは花を惜しむのではなく、ただ一筋に風を厭うことにしよう

(132) 吉野山桜にまがふ白雲の散りなん後は晴れずもあらなん
吉野山の桜のような白雲は、花が散った後も消えずにいてほしい
I hope the white clouds like cherry
blossoms on Mt. Yoshino will not clear up even after the flowers have fallen.
(133) 花と見ばさすが情けをかけましを雲とて風の払ふなるべし
花だったら容赦ない風も情をかけるだろうが、雲だからきっと風に吹き飛ばされてしまうだろう。
If it were a flower, the merciless wind would be sympathetic to it, but since it was a cloud, it would probably be
blown away by the wind.
(134) 風さそふ花のゆくへは知らねども惜しむ心は身にとまりけり
風にさそわれて散る花のゆくへは知らないけれど花を惜しむ心は身にとどまっています
I don't know where the flowers fall,
stirred by the wind, but the feeling of regret for them remains in my heart.
(135) 花ざかり梢をさそふ風なくてのどかに散らん春にあはばや
風が花ざかりの梢をそよがせることもなく、花がのどかに散る穏やかな春を楽しみたいです
I want to enjoy a calm spring when the
flowers fall peacefully without the wind stirring the flowering treetops.
(136) 風あらみ梢の花の流れきて庭に波立つ白川の里
梢に咲く花が強い風に乗って流れて来て庭に白波が立つように見える白川の里です
This is the village of Shirakawa, where the
flowers blooming in the treetops are carried by strong winds and look like
white waves in the garden.
(137) あだに散る梢の花をながむれば庭に消えぬ雪ぞつもれる
風に儚く散っていく樹上の花々を眺めていると、まるで溶けない雪が庭に積もっているように見えます
As I look at the flowers on the tree tops scattered fleetingly by the wind, it looks like snow that won't melt pile
in
the garden.
高野に籠りたりける頃、草の庵に花の散り積みければ
(138) 散る花の庵の上をふくならば風入るまじくめぐりかこはん
散る花が庵の屋根を葺くのなら、風に飛ばないように囲いをしましょう
If the falling flowers cover the roof of my
hermitage, I will fence them off so they don't blow away in the wind.

(139) 春風の花を散らすと見る夢はさめても胸の騒ぐなりけり
春風が花を散らす夢を見ると、目が覚めても不安な気持ちになります
When I dream of the spring breeze
scattering flowers, I feel uneasy even when I wake up.
(140) 山桜枝きる風の名残なく花をさながらわがものにする
山桜の枝を切るかのごとき風は、残さず花を散らし、さながら花は自分のものとするようです
The wind that like cuts the branches of
wild cherry blossoms scatters all the flowers, as if to claim them as its own!

(141) 梢打つ雨にしほれて散る花の惜しき心を何にたとへん
梢を打つ雨に濡れて散る花の惜しむ心を何に喩えたらいいでしょうか？
To what can be compared the regrettable
heart of falling flowers, wet from the rain hitting the treetops?
(142) 吉野山ひとむら見ゆる白雲は咲き遅れたる桜なるべし
吉野山の向こうに白い雲が集まっているのは遅咲きの桜でしょう
The white clouds gathering beyond Mt.
Yoshino are probably late-blooming cherry blossoms.
(143) 吉野山人に心をつけ顔に花よりさきにかかる白雲
吉野山は開花は近いと人に期待をもたせる様子なのに、花よりさきに白雲がかかりました
Mt. Yoshino seems to be promising that the flowers will bloom soon, but white clouds appear before the
blooming.
(144) 山寒み花咲くべくもなかりけりあまりかねてもたづね来にける
山はまだ寒く花が咲くこともないでしょうが、花を見たさに来てしまいました
It's still cold in the mountains and the
flowers probably won't bloom, but I came here just to see them.
山寒み：山はまだ寒いので
(145) かたばかりつぼむと花を思ふよりそそまた心ものになるらん
少しばかり蕾が出てるかなと花のことを思うとまた心は花のことでいっぱいになるでしょう
My heart will be filled with thoughts of
flowers, when I just wonder if a few buds have appeared.
かたばかり：ほんの少し
(146) おぼつかな谷は桜のいかならん峰にはいまだかけぬ白雲
気がかりな谷の桜はどうなっているのでしょう、峰にはいまだに白雲（桜）がかからないけれど
I'm worried about what's going on with the
cherry blossoms in the valley, although there are still no white clouds (cherry
blossoms) covering the peaks.
(147) 花と聞くは誰もさこそはうれしけれ思ひしづめぬわが心かな
花の便りを聞くと誰もがさぞうれしいことだろうけれど、思いをしづめることができない私の心は
I'm sure everyone would be very happy to
hear the news about the flowers, but my heart can't calm down.
(148) 初花のひらけはじむる梢よりそばへて風のわたるなりけり
花が咲き始めた梢から軽やかに風が吹いてきます
A light breeze blows from the treetops
where flowers have begun to bloom.
そばへ：戯へ。たわむれる。日照雨（そばえ）。空のごく一部分からだけ降る雨。日照があるのに降る雨。キツネの嫁入り。
(149) おぼつかな春は心の花にのみいづれの年かうかれ初めけん
いつの年からかよくわかりませんが、春になると花のことだけを考えて心がウキウキします
I'm not sure which year it started, but
when spring comes, I get excited just thinking about flowers.
(150) いざ今年散れと桜を語らはんなかなかさらば風や惜しむと
今年はもう散ってよいと私が桜に言えば、かえって風は花を惜しんで強く吹かないのじゃないかな
If I tell the cherry blossoms that they can scatter this year, the wind will probably spare the flowers and not
blow as
hard.
